YOUR IDEAS. OUR CREATIVE VISION.
Creating a Successful Landscape Design
A successful landscape design takes into consideration the client's wishes and the site's conditions. It's important to listen to our clients to ensure landscape plans reflect who they are and, it’s important to analysis the site's conditions to ensure it is used to its best advantage.
A premier landscape design firm since 2001, Dearborn DESIGNS was founded by Lexi Dearborn CLD.
"My role as a landscape designer is to create amazing, usable outdoor spaces to meet the needs of my client's by delivering innovative design ideas in a sustainable plan, that are really pretty."
Listen. Think. Design.
Personal Enjoyment of Your Outdoor Space
“As an industry certified landscape designer, I want to get to know and understand my client’s needs. It's all about figuring out 'who' they are so I can create the ideal outdoor space just for them. A well-designed, thought-out landscape influences the way clients use their outdoors, every day. I bring to the table over twenty years of design experience, innovative solutions, and customized design packages. A detailed landscape plan is the starting point of any well-executed landscape project."

A graduate of the University of Guelph in 2005, Lexi holds an Ontario Horticultural Diploma (Honors) in Landscape Design. In April 2015, Lexi received her Certified Landscape Designer (CLD) designation through the Canadian Landscape Nursery Association. "I join an elite group of designers recognized across Canada and North America known for their skills in enhancing the quality of an outdoor living space. Good landscape design requires far more than creativity. Creativity without horticultural expertise and an extensive knowledge of site engineering will only lead to disappointment in the finished product."
Landscape design comes naturally to Lexi. During her childhood her family owned and operated Ten Gables Golf Course and Resort in Sundridge, Ontario. "My Grandmother Billie had an incredible influence in molding my horticultural skills. Grandmother believed gardens, flowers, and nature should be part of every home." says Lexi.
Landscape design is a second career for Lexi. After completing a 3 year Business Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Administration at Niagara College, Lexi spent over 25 years working in Ontario’s finest hotels and restaurants. Although the two careers don’t seem to be related ~ serving great food and designing amazing landscapes ~ the basic principles are the same. Be creative so every piece is unique, provide amazing customer service, and expect excellence, apply to both professions.
Dream. Create. Grow.
