YOUR VISION. OUR CREATIVE IDEAS.
A successful landscape design combines nature and culture. It's well thought-out and takes into consideration the client's wishes and the site's conditions. We listen to clients to ensure plans reflect who they are, while we study site conditions to ensure the space is used to it's best advantage.
A premier Design Build firm since 2001, Dearborn Designs & Associates was founded by Lexi Dearborn with one goal ... ‘Design outdoor living spaces to meet the needs of our client's by delivering creative ideas in a sustainable plan, that are really pretty'.
People and Design
“As a landscape designer, I want to get to know my clients. It's about finding out 'who' the client is so I can create the right space for them. I believe a beautiful, functional space influences the way clients use their outdoors, day-to-day. We bring to the table innovative design solutions and personalized drawings packages. Great design this is the starting point of a well-executed landscape project.”

A graduate of the University of Guelph 2005, Lexi holds an Ontario Horticultural Diploma in Landscape Design Honors. In April 2015, Lexi received her CLD (Certified Landscape Designer) designation. ID #007591. I join an elite group of designers recognized across Canada and North America known for their skills in enhancing the quality of an outdoor living space. Good landscape design requires far more than creativity. Creativity without horticultural expertise and an extensive knowledge of site engineering will only lead to disappointment in the finished product.
Landscape design comes naturally to Lexi. During her childhood her family owned and operated Ten Gables Golf Course and Resort in Sundridge. ‘My Grandmother Billie had an incredible influence in molding my horticultural skills. She believed gardens, flowers, and nature should be part of every home.’ says Lexi.
Design is a second career for Lexi. After completing a 3-year Business Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Administration, Lexi spent over 25 years working in Ontario’s finest hotels and restaurants. Although the two careers don’t seem to be related ~ serving great food and building amazing landscapes ~ the basic principles are the same. Be creative so every piece is special, provide great customer service, be honorable and expect excellence, apply to both professions.
